Mussulo is a coastal cord and sandbank, in the shape of a cable, formed by the sediments of the Cuanza River, on the south coast of the province of Luanda, in Angola. They are about 30 km long.

The coastline of Mussulo is home to Mussulo Bay, which houses three islands and an islet in its interior, the island of Cazanga (or the island of the Fathers), the island of Birds, the island of Desterro, and the island of Quissanga.

A place of rest and relaxation for Luandans and visitors, the beautiful beaches of Mussulo - where you arrive by boat - are protected by the shade of hundreds of coconut palms, several of which are equipped with tourist and leisure facilities. The calm waters of the bay favor the practice of water sports.

On the other side of the sandbank, facing the Atlantic Ocean, there is an immense white sand beach, practically deserted.

After departing the hotel, we drive along Marginal Bay, with the commercial part of the city on the one side, and views across the bay on the other.

Continue and stop at the San Miguel Fort originally built-in 1576.

Continue driving to the new marginal side, we will stop to see from the distance the most unique sight – the Agostinho Neto Mausoleum – a huge stylized obelisk.

Drive to Mussulo pier and embark on a 15-minute boat cruise to Mussulo Island to enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on the island.

After lunch, there will be some time to relax on the beach or by the pool before heading back to Luanda and from there we will drive back to the hotel along with the Marginal and past the National Bank of Angola - a great example of colonial architecture, where you still find the Portuguese insignia on the main entrance.
