Embark on a trip to see the natural beauty of Angola. First, you will be treated to historic places like the Jesus Christ Statue, the Fort of São Miguel, the Mausoleum, the Iron Palace, etc. Then, let the Serra Leba Mountains, Black Rocks, Kalandula Waterfalls, Kissama National Park, and other amazing places take your breath away.
Day 1 - Luanda/Lubango
Welcome. Departure to Lubango at the end of the day.
Transfer to Pululukwa Resort.
Day 2 - Lubango
On the second day, you will start to take a tour of Lubango.
Here, you will visit some historic places like the government palace, the cathedral, and a museum.
Visit the Tundavala Gap and the waterfalls.
Time to go taste some local cheese and yogurt.
Optional: Take a unique ride in the old-style cart horse (under request).
At the end of the day, watch the sunset from the Cristo Rei (The Jesus Christ Statue like the one in Rio!).
Return to hotel.
Day 3 - Lubango/Namibe
On this day, you will continue your journey traveling to Namibe, located about 2.5 hours south of Lubango. Namibia is a province of Angola with a climate that is very temperate and humid along the coast, at a tropical latitude and presents vast deserts and semi-desert regions in much of the territory, contiguous with the Skeleton Coast of Namibia.
Starting your journey high in the mountains, you will pass the most incredible overland experience driving down the curves of Serra Leba Mountain (the iconic images you always see of Angola with winding mountain roads).
The desert of Namibe is one of the oldest deserts in the world. In terms of wildlife, you may be able to see snakes, Oryxes, lizards, and a rare plant in the world only found in Namibe's desert, the welwitschia Mirabilis. Being at Namibe, the most exciting thing that you can do is spend 2 days of your tour on a desert safari.
There is a safari lodge called Flamingo that will be your host place for this.
Day 4 - Namibe
Departure for a full-day desert safari where you can see some of the most beautiful places in this province.
Return to Flaming Lodge.
Day 5 - Namibe/Luanda
Free morning in the Lodge.
Transfer to Moçamedes city to take the plane to Luanda.
Transfer to Continental Hotel.
Day 6 - Luanda / Malange (Kaladula falls)
Go on a day drive and visit Ndalatando Botanical Gardens en route.
Visit Black Rocks in Pungo Andongo, generally known as Pedras Negras. The Black Rocks are a series of giant mysterious rock formations shaped in the form of animals in the Savanna.
Drive to Malange to be accommodated in a local hotel.
Day 7 - Malange / Luanda
Today, you will visit the Kalandula Waterfalls, located in Malanje province, which is 105 meters high and considered one of the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa. This major waterfall is powerful and impressive since it's surrounded by scenic landscapes to match, great grasslands, and spanning savannas.
Return to Luanda.
Day 8 - Luanda / Quiçama
Departure to Kissama National Park which is an Angolan natural park, situated in Bengo province, the closest one to Luanda that is reachable by tourists. Kissam has an area of 9.600 km² and is 75 km away from Luanda. The vegetation is varied from Kwanza riverbanks into the park: mangroves, dense woods, savanna, cacti, baobab trees, etc.
Opportunity to make a safari and a riverboat trip.
Stay at Kwanza Lodge or similar.
Day 9 - Quiçama / Luanda
Drive to Luanda.
Today, you will do a city tour where you can visit the most important places of Luanda, The Fort of São Miguel (now the National Museum of the Army), the Mausoleum, the Anthropology Museum, and the Iron Palace.
End of the services.
